We don't know what was offered along w the lateral promotion. Why should he stay here if he's reached a ceiling? He may have opportunities in DET that he clearly wasn't gonna get here. It makes alot of sense to quit your job for the same title if it comes w a better package & opportunity.
But if really in his heart of hearts he thinks he got unfairly passed over he wouldn’t accept the Lions lateral move in first five minutes.
Yeah maybe he’s getting more money, we don’t know but it’s still bizarre if he believes he’s a great football mind. And he better believe he’s a great football mind as rah rah rah emotion guys can only get you so far.
Anyways, great opportunities and the Detroit Lions rarely go hand in hand. What is most likely to happen here is that he gets fired in two to three years along with new head coach and rest of staff.
