He's done in the NFL.   I don't know what happened but he can't play at the NFL level any longer.    I never liked him but I thought he's have a long career being a middling journeyman QB.   Make a bunch of money and be set.   Sam Bradford could do it so could Wentzy.    In the end, a sad story.

as a 1st and 2nd year player, when he played hero ball, he had enough athleticism to escape and make a play. after his injury in '17, he no longer can move like he did, but refuses to change his play style. now hero ball = turnovers

Can't believe they gave up a 2022 3rd rounder for him PLUS a 2023 3rd rounder that becomes a 2nd if he plays 70% of the snaps.  Have to imagine they bench him before he gets close to playing that.  They stink, so there's no reason to keep him in there and worsen their draft pick.   He was probably a few weeks away from being cut when they swooped in with that offer.

And Wentz may cost Riverboat Ron his job as well.  He’s attached his cart to the Wentz Wagon and just a couple weeks ago stated, WAS was riding it out w Wentz.
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Rom 8:31)

No he's not.   He used to be able to escape sacks and out run linemen to keep plays alive and then make an ad-lib play.   He's still holding onto the ball long trying to make a play, but no longer makes guys miss, no longer escapes sacks, he's getting caught from behind, etc... He clearly lost some agility and quickness.

you're clueless. go watch film from 2017 and watch him outrun guys to make plays and watch film now where he can't outrun his own guards

I don't know if he is or isn't but he clearly isn't the same guy mentally.   Maybe he never was and 2017 was an anomaly [which i believe it was... that team couldn't do anything wrong].   He makes the same mistakes again and again.   This is likely his last season.

Here's every sack of Wentz his last year in Philly in 2020.  Look how slow he looks maneuvering and trying to escape the pocket compared to 2017.  Not to mention his ability to shed would be tacklers.

And now compare that to his 2017 highlights where he scrambled and evaded would be tacklers.

It's a amazing that even after Foles took over in 2017 and our offense only got better, you guys still don't get that Wentz was always what he is now.

The group cognitive dissonance is almost admirable, mass formation psychosis aside.

WTF does Nick Foles have to do with what we are talking about?   We're talking about Wentz's physical decline since 2017 THAT HAS CLEARLY HAPPENED.   No, in 2017 he was absolutely not what he is now.  In 2017 he was an athletic playmaking QB.  He still had improvements to make in the fundamentals of the game, but he made up for that with his athletic ability and playmaking skills.

And because Wentz never made the needed improvements to his game, his holding onto the ball too long went from a flaw in his game that he could overcome with his ability to escape sacks and keep plays alive, to a fatal flaw in his game that results in an abundance of bad sacks, bad turnovers, and missed opportunities.

He still thinks he has the same athletic ability he had in 2017.  He doesn't.  He used to be able to escape sacks, make guys miss, out run defenders and keep plays alive.  He no longer has that ability.  Now him holding onto the ball just leads to negative plays.

This day and age, the odds of any injury, besides an Achilles tear, killing the athleticism of a 25 year old 4.8 40 runner is .00000000000001,%.

Wentz always sucked.  You guys saw "MVP" cause you had no clue what you were watching, and were still reluctant at the time to admit that Howie was a good GM and Doug a good coach.

nah, we saw what the rest of the country and basically every football talking head and ex-player saw. a guy who was incredibly adept at avoiding the rush and making houdini like escapes to make plays. a guy who never regained that ability after his injury. what you saw? god knows, because you don't have a clue what you're looking at.
