Kruk, I complained about the Flyers drafting Jett, but after seeing him on the ice in an actual game atmosphere...the dude looks seriously legit. If he can cash in on his shots, he may actually turn into a number 1 center. His defense and understanding of such look top notch. That is not easy for some players to ever understand, and he just turned 18. So very impressive.
What you can't teach is something I know you talked about, Kruk. That is Jett's speed. The dude is seriously very fast out there. It's very noticeable. I am really wondering if they are going to send this guy to the minors or let him come right from the draft and make the team. I think they will give him a 9 game regular season trial and then send him to the minors unless he proves he has no reason to ever be sent to the minors. The thing is, the NHL actually is very difficult for a center, especially a kid who just turned 18, unless you are a dude like a Crosby, McDavid, or the great one. So he may be best going down for 1 season at least.
I don't see Jett ever being in that category of the elite, but I think he may actually be a steal, a bit of a hidden gem and become a very very good first line center someday soon. DB may have made the right choice drafting him after all.
