when excellence is doubted but actually took place it only juices them up more

I speak from personal experience

No it doesn’t have to connote something that ominous. Was used often in normal work situations after a project was completed

3
Let’s see if they feel they need to extend this managerial talent

But if this wimp was forced to play Hays my guess he knows he’s lucky to have this job

Phillies will have a postmortem news conference with Dave Dombrowski and Rob Thomson next Tuesday. Standard end-of-season stuff. Will be interesting to hear both discuss the upcoming offseason.

if the wording is correct, for those wanting thomson gone, its not happening

This franchise has no chance and why your seasons will always end like this or worse

I personally want for nothing, I’m an unbiased observer. This ain’t my team no mo

Phillies Board / Bye Guys
« on: October 10, 2024, 09:21:33 pm »
Oh I’m not going anywhere he he he

Teams who had the bye are taking control or are going to win tonight. The bye guys doing well

Except for one team. That team lost 3 of 4 to a team, then went on a bye and then lost 3 of 4 again. It wasn’t the bye

It was like magic, catching bad teams while they were without their only good players. Missing Skenes. Head into LAAngels and then Trout instantly goes down.

9
Started off with a great record playing Nats, Marlins, White Sox, Rockies etc. And even then ran above expectation and rode positive variance

Then once tougher schedule kicked in it was said they “got cold”. Had a losing record after all star break. Don’t really think they lost to a lesser team in Mets that got hot, but that’s what is being said.

They might both be like 88 win teams, but Phillies just flat out got luckier, particularly in first half

LOL so if I say, "man you are so old and you always stumble over your words, you're just like Joe Biden", that means I'm opening up a discussion on economic policy?  lol no.

You might be getting close but someone bringing up Trump now is butthurt about politics. It’s not like bringing up Brad Pitt lmao

Lol no right back at ya buddy

It wasn’t so much his fault that they need to embarrass him and fire him right after the game

But he’s gone, has to be

Phillies "ran it back" already and it was pretty much an epic failure. They have to make changes. I don't know if they will be as drastic as many people are hoping, but they can't seriously consider running it back again, unless they fire ROB and sell the fans on the new manager making a difference, along with a few tinkering moves here and there.

Given contracts pretty much forced to run it back. Someone like Bohm can probably be traded though and a smart GM might have skill set to flip him to a team that gets Googly eyed over obtaining an all star in return to someone who can offer the Phillies more stability in playoffs

But our GM is guy who got Googly eyes over the all star Hays

Getting rid of Rob shouldn’t even be a discussion point. Dude has one year on contract so it’s time to either extend or get rid of him and only an epic dummy would say we should extend. He’s gone.
