I get his anger.

Like Simmons he broke his body for the team, and is seemingly getting no credit for it.

He's not a martyr, he's a professional basketball player who has earned hundreds of millions of dollars.

Neither of them broke their body for the team. They broke their bodies playing for themselves and contracts. What did either of them do more than any other pro athlete ? Embiid at least tried. Simmons went through the motions. If a grown man who weighs close to 300 lbs can’t learn in 10 years that you can’t keep landing on the floor, there is no hope.

If a terrorist blew up the entire city of Philadelphia tomorrow, I'm not sure that America would respond the way it did with 9/11.  Just a guess though.

Pro athletes can bust their butts for the same amount of money for other fanbases who are less $hitty human beings.

Yeah, the shxxy city that sells out nearly every game in spite of years of garbage, followed by 10 years of never getting past the 2nd round in spite of having a top 5 draft pick including 2 #1 overall. Who cheered like crazy for a player who never cared a whit about basketball in spite of having incredible physical gifts. Cheered him for making a foul shot, trying a 3 pointer until he 100% exposed himself for the weak hearted loser he was. The fan base who has cheered Embiid and screamed trust the process, and MVP at him his entire career here.
Yeah that awful fanbase. What is so bad about our fans? We care? I guess you could play in Atlanta, or Miami or Minnesota or Memphis where fans really don’t give a crap and don’t support their teams. You could have great fan support like your local teams who have pure front running fans. Where your wizards and nats are near the bottom of attendance. Even the Caps who are good are in the bottom half in attendance. So tell me about shxx fans.

There are other passionate fanbases who don't kick you when you're down or washed up.

Your best comparable frankly speaking is the "never really care" fanbases, such as the ones in DC and LA.

Trust me, the "Philly fans suck" thing resonates quite well all across America and probably into other nations.  I was just down in Florida not too long back and was having a nice convo with a bartender until I made the horrible mistake of asking her where the nearest Philly sports bar was at.

philly fans definitely have a terrible reputation- most of which dates back to the '60's and '70's. amazing how many of these horribly mistreated players
