For $1m per week I expect people to do a bit more than occasionally turn up to work.
ONE MILLION DOLLARS A WEEK
He should be exactly on the right weight
He should be aerobically 100% fit. There are numerous things he can do to maintain fitness despite a swollen knee.
He should set a good example
He should put team (employer) ahead of individual goals and stats.

If he did all the things you'd expect from a franchise player he'd have been a better player and better person.

Jimmy Rollins called Philly fans front runners, but you're obviously not an actual Philly sports fan.

This man has played through injuries for this city.

In the playoffs when the only reason to do so was to win, playoff stats don't really mean anything to anyone.

Show some respect, before Embiid shows up to Tobias house and gives you the business too while Tobias watches lol!

front runners? really? i'll bet our cities attendance by percentage is as high or higher than any other cities. how many championships do we have to show for it?
how is that front running? atlanta fans front run, tampa fans front run etc.. and so funny to see you step up as a joel defender when you've spent years criticizing
him as playing only for his stats

And Jimmy was 100% wrong in that.  Philly fans are the farthest thing from front runners.  So saying that didn't make sense.   At the time he said it, none of the 4 major sports teams had won a championship in over 20 years.  Yet despite the lack of championships, the fans had packed the stadiums year after year after year.  Literally the exact opposite of being a front running fan base.

What he said was, "There are times, I might catch some flak for saying this, but, you know, they're front-runners. When you're doing good, they're on your side. When you're doing bad, they're completely against you."

That's not really what being a "front runner" means.  It's also true for literally every other fansbase in America.  Yes, fans cheer when things are going good, and they jeer and boo when things are going bad.  This isn't some novel concept that's unique to Philadelphia.

Jimmy said it, and you guys are proving it now with how quickly you're turning on Embiid.

Back when it didn't cost an arm and leg to attend sports games, my father would take me to a game in Philly once every couple years.

There were empty seats almost every time I went, plenty of them.

Even with the Eagles there were weeks where the local stations had to buy out the unsold seats just to avoid a black out.  The only game I attended was the Giants Eagles game where Randall landed in the endzone on his head.  The Eagles were theoretically a contender then, but it was still cheaper to attend a game in Philly than to get tickets at RFK.

LOL yes I'm sure that at 9 years old, you knew the price of tickets at comparable seats between RFK and the Vet.

Also, not to mention that in 1989, Washington was 2 years removed from winning their 2nd superbowl in 7 years.   Conversely, the Eagles in 1989 hadn't won a single playoff game in 8 years.   Yes, that's definitely an apples to apples comparison....

I was a math savvy kid and my parents made it very clear to me that money was tight.

When they finally decided to go house shopping I knew exactly how much they could reasonably afford to pay for a home.  When they told me how much they ended up paying for our tiny Bethesda home I knew right then and there that they bit off more than they could chew.
