i already said it didnt matter to you guys but you still decided to septuple down on the hate

my point was that outsiders and now even some sixers fans will do anything to tear him down even if it isnt real.  Microcosm of his career, that went viral and was on ESPN.  I dont care about the percents they were wrong and didnt fact check and just ran with it.

he started at a 200 game deficit and beat that.  No comment on that... just negativity...

Its okay to be negative, this team has put us all through hell.  But to do it so constantly is poison.  We are .5 out of the 5th seed and Detroit just lost Cade.  Very real possibility with guys coming back that we play Cleveland and then if we win a tight series we get Detroit without Cade.  Dream a little.  This has been a weird season in an era of weird seasons.  No team in the east is a world beater except the Celtics.

The point of sports is to have fun and to dream big.  Right now things are looking okay, its not the time to melt down over Joel every single day.
We also play OKC today... You can count that as a loss... The Magic play the Pacers and Raptors at the Jazz... And lets be honest here... All we do is beat tanking teams... We got a sprinkle of wins over playoff teams... Another thing, you do realize that Joel is tied for the 2nd highest contract in the entire league... So if the #2 paid player is not available, clearly that is a problem... The cap space that he takes only allows us to have GLeague help... And just maybe we are not .5 games out if he played more games...

Trust me when I say this, nobody has to tear down Joel Embiid... His body has done that for an entire decade... And some fans are exhausted of his 50/50 mentality... Call him out by saying GROUND HOGS DAY, you know at some point it's coming... And it does... Every freaking year... The last 3 years again, 33, 19, and 39 games... And here we sit 11 more games remaining in the season with zero idea if we are in or a play-in team... His unavailability is why we sit in this position... And cap wise you can only do so much around his asinine contract... In no way do I feel sorry for Joel... He has brought the majority of it on his own...

Joel's got a great story and he's done a lot of good for the 76ers which should be recognized and commended. and if you watch sports primarily for entertainment, to see individual talent showcased, there's no doubt that when he plays, Joel can give that to you. But, if you want to win a championship, your best player's health and availability is absolutely a huge, giant, factor in any plan. And missing 49% of his games or 50% of his games is not materially different to championship aspirations. Either % demands attention and discussion. In fact, either % almost surely (wont say absolutely) removes any realistic possibility of winning a title.
Couldn't agree more... What are we talking about here... 50 to 49% is not that big of a difference... To say Joel has played over 50% is not saying much... That alone is why we don't win... Can you at least participate? I would rather Joel be a 12 and 10 guy and be available...

It's always going to come down to GROUND HOGS DAY and the fact that the team never has any consistency as a team... You will hear some crazy stat about the starting lineup having only played together so many times.

3
the stat that went viral wasnt even real

i know it doesnt matter to you guys but hes still played over 50% despite starting his career at a 200 game deficit.  Hes beat the odds and had a career and people just clown him.  His career almost never ever started and he turned into an mvp.  Thats worth praise and takes a lot of blood sweat and tears

it was something like 485 to 465 and and everyone just ran with it because they are aholes who hate our boy.  Support our players instead of tearing them down

tied for the 6 seed down 4 straters and now potentially a backup starter in Barlow

Time to squint a little
Fake or not, it's not that far off... Joel at the Denver games missed 467 games... He would have missed the Jazz and Kings game. So that should be 469 games Missed...

Joel Embiid out for Sixers-Thunder on Monday... That would make it 470 games missed by Joel Embiid...

Joel Embiid has not played since Feb. 28 due to a right oblique strain. The Sixers have continually professed hope that his return was nearing in recent days...

When did playing over 50% of your career become a good thing? Do you agree that his unavailability is why we have not won a title under Joel... The lack of chemistry because he's unavailable... I'll give you something that is less than 50%... I don't give the Sixers a chance at all of winning in the 1st round. We could lose in the play-in... The chances of the Sixers winning a 1st round series IMHO, is 0%... They are not beating the Pistons, Celtics, or Knicks... Just maybe if someone was available more, the wins reflect differently, and they are higher in the standings. And their is consistency with the team in general... But this in and out the lineup for a huge number of games is not sustainable or a winning way... 485 played and 470 not played, regardless of how you want to put it is not good... It's still a 50/50 flip of the coin if he's available or not... 50.78% PLAYED and 49.22% NOT PLAYED...

Big picture, Embiid's left knee is fine and he can still score 30 a game with good defense without playing like a human circus elephant.

The little knick-knack injuries are par for the course in the modern game.  But now that Embiid KNOWS his left knee is fine, his future prospects are once again good.
Delusional...

When Joel is playing less than Kawahi Leonard, it's a problem...

great and encouraging game from the boys but its crazy that we are able to win games at all with all the injuries

tanking has gotten WAY out of hand and they are talking about expansion?  Im a process truther till the day i die but you cant have half the league tanking.  Serves silver right for commandeering our team and having his fingerprints all over Hinkie's exit.  He deserves this
What do you mean win games? You beat the tankers? We beat the Kings, Blazers, Nets, Grizzlies, Jazz... While losing to Nuggets, Pistons, Cavs, and Hawks... It's been like this all season... We might beat a good team every now and then, but the majority have been these types of games...

Reality is we could have lost to some of those bad teams, but those teams knew how to tank, where the Sixers not so much... You should be thankful for those tanking teams because we would be much worse if not.

Sixers are a half game out of the 6th seed.

My guess is that Embiid, Maxey and PG will return for the last 10 games of the season.

If we can go 8-4 from here out and finish the season at 46-36, I think the 6 seed will be ours.
There is zero guessing anything with Joel and PG...

This is also another reason why I'm upset with the season... Edwards is a guy who should have gotten major burn. If I recall, wanted to start him at SF. And remember saying put PG at PF... Or Joel at PF and Bona at C... Shocked we didn't trade him as their was rumors as well...

Nice game for VJ and Edwards... Can definitely see them as part of the future... Now if we could only get Boozer lol... I don't know what the tie breakers are, but we still sit in the 9th seed. Look, beating these GLeague teams don't mean anything to me. It's what can you do against the playoff contenders... Luckily they get the Jazz next.

At a minimum? You are going to have to elaborate on that, Cowboys. Sounds like your suggesting you expect he should start. Ie in a 3 guard lineup with Maxey and VJ?!? For a guy that hates small ball that sounds preposterous.
Did he not start 8 games early in the season? He was our 5th leading scorer last season... I'm suggesting that he should have been the 6 man... I don't understand why he couldn't... Why couldn't McCain substitute for Maxey to play with VJ... Why couldn't McCain and Grimes coexist off the bench as substitutions...

I hate small ball... Yes, the 3 guard lineup... I never understood, even when healthy, why Grimes has to be in the game the last 5 minutes... What I do know, McCain was not played correctly, nor given the opportunity or minutes... Why can he succeed in OKC, but not in Philly... Edwards should have gotten consistent minutes behind Oubre if not starting... Bona should have been the day one backup to Joel... This season has been an EPIC FAILURE... it's going to be interesting to see what happens, because I have thought all along that Grimes will walk for a larger contract to end the season... Then what...

I wouldn't say the Lakers aren't a possibility... For decades, the Lakers have brought in bigs... Kareem from the Bucks. Shaq from the Magic... Gasol from the Grizzlies... Wilt was obtained from Philly... AD from the Pelicans... Bob McAdoo, Vlade Divac, Dwight Howard... I would not say there is no chance... As far as the Lakers being a well-organized team... Are they really? Why did they really sell the team? The Lakers went a decade without doing anything... People forget when we were stinking during the Process, the Lakers were right there with us... Ball, Ingram, Randle, DRuss, etc... LA is a team that buys their championships... They don't do things organically. With showtime, they had a few guys in Magic, Perkins, Worthy, etc... But they buy their guy to win... Like the Yankees have done in their history. Not to mention the market of LA is enticing for some.

485 PLAYED and 467 MISSED... Tonight will be yet another game missed...

I found this interesting... Games played since Feb. 1st, 2024... Ben Simmons 59, Joel Embiid 52...

I maintain there's an AD/Wizards type trade out there somewhere. The FO just needs to be willing to make it.
I have said this for years and most say no way...

There is always a sucker in the league... Call the Lakers and send him west... Maybe we can get Ayton, Rui, and Austin Reeves and a 1st...

I thought so to, but apparently its less than 486.  Its 466, but still alot.

2019–20 Season (72 games): Suspended in March 2020, it resumed in the "Bubble" in July, finishing with 72 games.
2020–21 Season (72 games): A delayed start due to the COVID-19 pan
.
That is telling where it says, how many games have we paid him not to play...

Honestly, I thought it was 467, the number I originally had... And when I did Google searches, I guess it went viral, he missed as many as he played... But you are so right, that is still a lot... And one could say if it's not the same amount of games played, sooner or later, he indeed will miss more than he's played... Every miss game inches closer and closer...

In retrospect... Anthony Davis has played in 807 games... Shockingly, AD has missed far fewer than I thought. Don't have the exact number. But shows 230 missed in 2025... Zion has missed a ton... Kawahi Leonard has missed a ton... Since 2014, nobody has missed more games than Joel Embiid...

Sixers Forum / Joel Has Now Missed More Games Than He Has Played...
« on: March 18, 2026, 12:01:55 am »
485 games played... And tonight makes 486 games missed... For an entire decade, I have been making this point... But yet the Embiid homers will tell you something else... You wonder why we never get over the hump... Joel is literally a season killer... You never have any consistency... And while Kruk is like a used salesman selling you an old Ford Pinto, while telling you it's a Mercedes-Benz...

It's officially time... I would not wait on Joel to ask out... You need to have the balls and make a business decision... As a matter of fact, I would not even bring him back... I already was on record to say just let him sit the year and trade him during the summer... Let him continue rehab and get whatever you can in the draft... Maybe some dumb lottery team is willing to carry the risk... As I would assume that they would have the cap space to make it happen... Is there a playoff team on the verge who would take that risk... I'm willing to take back smaller contracts that can be moved... I would hope that we get 1 young guy with potential and a draft pick... I can live with it...

But only 13 games are remaining, and we sit all alone in the 9th seed... 2 games away from the 10th seed... I keep reminding you about the last 3 years... 33, 19, and 39 games... Play-In, 5th worst, and now the 15th worst team in the league... But someone will tell you, just wait till the playoffs...

12
EXPLAIN... VJ with 5 fouls with 9:16 seconds to go in the 3rd quarter...

Don't even bring him back... Why is Joel eating on the bench? Bona with 2 free throws... Bona comes back on the other end with the block... And now Barlow getting buckets... Murry with a great pass to Braun for super easy layup...

Denver makes it look so easy... It goes to show what making 1 extra pass can do.

Sixers OFFICIALLY 2 game away from the 10th seed... OMG getting blowed out by 32 at the half...

The NFL normally calls mercy and switches to another game lol... This is just bad... What has not changed all season, we stay in the 4-5 games over .500 all year...

14
6ers have shot a whopping 27% from 3 last 6 games....lol  Drummond nor Watford should never be shooting 3s.
.
I'm like how many times in the 1st half I said to myself... OMG WTF WAS THAT...

Right before the half the ball is swung to Drummond again... And he got that deer in headlight look and passes to Cam who gets blocked... 72-40 Denver... 20-12 first half assist for them... 32-18 rebounds for them...

All the explanations you give are legitimate, but I doubt they had anything to do with Morey's decision to move him. He was an inexpensive rookie who was a developing shooting option off the bench. Morey spent all the money on Joel and PG and was/is left shopping at the Dollar Tree to build a team. Does it matter? Probably not.
In the meantime, Morey's buddy Lowry is getting a paycheck to sit on the bench... Again, why could he not have just be traded off as an expiring contract... Why keep him? I get he is from Philly, but he's a Raptors, not a Sixers...

Love the Dollar Tree line... So true... I said before the season it would not work. You can't have GLeague guys thinking they are going to win you games... And what happens in those games when GROUND HOGS DAY arrives and Joel and PG misses games and can't play in back to back games...
