For those w hope:

The Raptors lose, the Hawks and Sixers move .5 back of the 5 seed in the East.

Obviously the Sixers have a schedule loss tomorrow night vs OKC but 5 winnable games after that (if Embiid returns with George) is very possible.  The MIA game is a must win, to keep the tie breaker.  Ditto w CHA.  Only ATL holds the tie breaker over PHI.  Teams are bunched from #5-10.  Two games separate the 5th seed from the 10th seed.  CHA has the easiest schedule over the next 5 games, and they've been playing the best (W3).   Depending on how seeds 2-4 deal w their seedings, it could get interesting.  Next 5 games for:

PHI:  OKC, CHI, @CHA, @MIA, @WAS

ATL:  MEM, @DET, @BOS, SAC, BOS

ORL:  IND, @CLE, SAC, @TOR, PHX

TOR: @UTH, @LAC, NOP, ORL, @DET

MIA:  SAS, @CLE, @CLE, IND, PHI

CHA:  SAC, NYK, PHI, BOS, @BKY

*DET is the top seed, but Cade is out.  They'll play to keep the top seed.  I don't see BOS nor NYK tanking games to manipulate their seeding, so they'll play it out.  They won't be ducking any smoke.  Cant speak for CLE one way or the other.

I spent 4.5 seasons defending Tobias.

Thats news to me....and could be true, but from what I read over those years hasn't been defense.  Especially his last 2yrs in PHI

VJ is really making a case to be our closer.

Last night it was Grimes who basically closed out that game.  I was screaming this morning watching the replay for VJ to get involved.  He was deferring to Cam Payne at one point...lol.

With 6mins left and the scored tied at 108......Grimes scores, Watford makes 2 FTs, Grimes scores, Grimes makes 2 FTs, VJ scores on runout dunk, Bona scores, Grimes scores, Watford makes 2 FTs, VJ scores.  I love VJ, but thats a step he's definitely not ready for.  I will say, however, he definintey has a tendency to make clutch shots.

the stat that went viral wasnt even real

it was something like 485 to 465 and and everyone just ran with it because they are aholes who hate our boy.  Support our players instead of tearing them down

It was corrected.  In fact, I posted an entire video about the correction.  I can't even fathom someone HATING him over a game of basketball.  If thats the case, then they should seek help.  He doesn' affect anyones life personally, nor does anyone know him personally.  Hate is too strong a word IMO.  I think most are frustrated w his injury history.  IF you wanna say someone is hated though, best believe it's DM....  j/k

I like Cade, I like Detroit as a city.

If we don't make it out the east I hope the Pistons do.

And watch Tobias possibly get a ring?  Im shocked!!!  As much as you hate Tobi, that was one heck of a statement....

Some players on the 65 game no awards (MVP, All NBA) watch.  Players can miss a max of 17 games:

Deni Avdija can't miss another game

Kawhi Leonard has 1 game of wiggle room before becoming ineligible.  He's currently out w a sprained ankle

Jokic has 1 game of wiggle room.

Wemby, Mobley, and Siakam have 2 games of wiggle room

Jalen Duren has 3 games of wiggle room

Anthony Edwards has 4 games wiggle room

SGA and Luka got 5 games of wiggle room

Depending on when Cade & Tyrese return they too can become ineligible.  They both have 8 games of wiggle room.

They were the 18th and 24th pick in the 2022 draft.

The book on both was "if they can hit the 3, they'll be really good".

Marjon's 3 looks true.  Terry is not there yet, but he's still just 23.

Marjons 3 ball is inconsistent, but it's getting better.  I watch him in GL where he puts up alot of 3s but not making over 36% of them.  His time in MIL he shot it at a 35% clip on 2 attempts per game.  In his 8 games in PHI he's shot it well at 41%, but you gotta put it in context.  They were all blow out losses, w exception of blow out win vs SAC.

Dont know any of these players.  So, who should I be watching?

Uhhh...I can't watch this.  I tried.

Each one of Edwards, Marjon and Terry are higher ceiling players than McCain.

Edwards could be, but you're going to far w Marjon and Terry.

McCain wouldn't have fetched us a 1st if we had waited until this offseason.  OKC's situation was a unique.  You rarely see a team THAT desperate for a player like McCain.

And if we had kept McCain, Barlow would have become an unrestricted free agent this season, with no bird rights on our end.

Love Barlow, but he's not a deal breaker.  Ive stated before that I believe Edwards could do what McCain did and shoot just as well, IF given the opportunity and gains his confidence back.  He has gained his confidence back, and has been forced to play due to injury and he's come up big.  I agree OKC situation was unique w so many injured players they had, but HOU was using a SF at PG, and MIN didnt have a PG at all using SGs.  I can't say what other teams wouldve offered.  I like that they got back into this deep draft, so I can be thankful for that.

McCain would have probably played 25-30 minutes with Maxey, Oubre, PG and Embiid out.

But guys like Edwards, Marjon and Terry would have gotten less minutes and touches, and Cam Payne would never have been signed.

The idea that we'd have somehow won more games this season by keeping McCain is silly.

But Philly fans love being silly.

I dont think it's a matter of wins or losses, but the fact that another young cost controlled proven player was dealt too early.  I personally didn't care if he was traded or not, but the timing bothered me.  They could've waited IMO to the off season to make a deal.  See what happens w Grimes and other FAs.  Im sure that BKY, MIA, DAL, PHX, MIN and a few other teams could use a starting quality PG.  Edwards, Marjon, and Terry would still be here,  Cam wouldn't, but so what.  I never wanted to see Maxey and McCain on the floor together because Im not a fan of small ball.  I hate seeing Grimes on the floor w Maxey & VJ for the same reason.  Good teams take advantage of small ball.
