Sixers Forum / Re: What if Harden had accepted our extension offer?
« on: August 30, 2025, 06:33:17 am »
Given that we haven’t won anything since the 80’s and Harden has been the only player that has given given us a chance to win even when Embiid is out for long periods, hell yes we would have been better off.  I’m sick of the process lol

brown recently took ownership of making the zhaire smith trade on the interview he had with spike eskin on rights to ricky sanchez podcast

Sounded to me like he took ownership too.  In short, he was trying to help the team since he had recently just sign a new contract.

Another thing that he mentioned was that Hinkie never made him be the scapegoat like many insinuated as far as talking to the media about all of the losing that we know as “the process”, Brett wanted to be the frontman because he was confident in what he wanted to communicate and it allowed him to control the story.

It's not a bad thing, it just means that this 2/65 contract is really a 1/32 contract that Harden will use before selling his services to the highest bidder next offseason.

And in exchange for Harden taking 1/32 instead of the 1/47 opt in, we gave his 37 year old drinking buddy Tucker a generous 3/33 deal.

It'll be raining at Philly strip clubs this year, especially if Morey ends up acquiring Gordon.

I can’t do this anymore smh lol .  I think my point has been proven 🤦🏾‍♂️

You don't think the Lakers would jump on that opportunity to do that with Westbrook right now?

Salary dumping has a price, and we're flat out empty on picks.
It’s a possibility but I think the lakers would rather use him as a trade chip to get someone that can help them win…umm Kyrie?

How is this any different then what you said about being able to dump Tobias on someone to free up Money to sign James outright instead of trading Ben?  Picks would need to be attached right?
The point is, James didn’t put us in a financial bind for years to come like Lillard and Beal just did.  He took a team friendly deal that provides flexibility for both sides.

Seems the love fest is getting new members.
Amazing what summer does to people.
mra128 loved the Harden trade (insane) and is now looking for nice things to say about Harden.
He made a business decision and probably getting an offsetting deal.
But you love him, see how you feel after next playoffs.

Try not to let your personal  feelings get in the way of logic lol.  With this deal if Harden does suck and decides to opt in, he’s an expiring contract.  We can ship him to OKC like we did Horford on a wayy worst contract.  Werent you the one just last week saying that Morey was going sign him to a max “love fest” deal?  How is this not better?

John Wall was paid whether or not he sat out last season.
Houston wanted him to come off the bench but he preferred to sit.

So this is even better, not only did John Wall not want to come off the bench for the betterment of the team, rather he decided to sit out and still collect the biggest check on the team.  So you still don’t see why we are praising Harden?
Houston would have gladly bought John Wall out last season if John Wall agreed to take a discount….

After we lose to Heat most of the forum is like, Harden not worth $47m , no way .

Few weeks later most of the forum like, Harden such a great guy for not taking $47m.

🤣🤣🤣

So it’s the norm for players to just leave guaranteed money on the table?  John Wall SAT OUT A WHOLE SEASON to get basically all of his money.

Jimmy responded hostly to a bland tweet welcoming PJ to the roster, including calling out Embiid.  Seems like a good sign to me.

Jimmy really loved PJ lol

Yeah after 2 years Tobias and Harden come off the books and we can reload around Maxey and Embiid if needed.

This is dope.  I can’t remember the last time a player of his stature or any player left money on the table for the betterment of the team.  Tobi should follow and give Maxey half of his check 😭

Only in build and complexion…😂😂😂

Yeah first time watching him in game action, after watching that foul line jumper clank I take my Willy Green comparison back lol.  A more athletic Eric snow before he found his foul line jumper is good lol
