Sixers Forum / Re: What I Hate About Our Guards...

Just a thought, but I'm thinking that Lowery will retire shortly into the season, just so he retires a Sixer and he could say he played 20 seasons. Only to move into coaching as an assistant. Would that count against the cap? His salary, if he was to retire after perhaps playing in 1 game?

I wouldn't characterize it that way. I think he's slow to make changes but even that has some merit.

It takes time for players to gel, for units to build chemistry, and for players to develop their games. Sticking with them, sticking with lineups etc. can be a sign of trust and build confidence in your players. There's a time when patience is worthwhile. That said, obviously, when you claim to be a contender but play poorly, you gotta hammer out your issues quickly.

Its tough to thread the needle. At this point I think its clear Brett isn't capable of doing that. But I wouldn't call most of his decisions out right "the wrong thing". He's got a weird roster and weird "franchise players" and had to contend with, what? Now 5 different rosters in 2 seasons?

One thing's for sure, the Sixers the will continue to be the most interesting team in the league. Id bet my house they lose in the 1st round this year and Brett gets canned. Im really interested to see not only how coaches view an open Sixers job but also how Josh Harris views the coaching candidates. I don't think it's a stretch to suggest the franchise has been rudderless, lacked a clear vision, since Sam Hinkie left. In fact it was widely reported that Josh Harris tapped Elton Brand as GM because the experienced GM candidates wanted more control than Harris was willing to give them. It will be interesting if he takes that same mentality into the next coaching search.
My Man  I'll take that bet!!  where is that house? How many beds and baths?? What's the square footage?? Do you have a pool??

Those were bone injuries, which Hinkie himself explained was due to Embiid's poor bone density and the fact that he was still growing.  Both of those issues have been fixed.

The stuff he's getting now are joint injuries.  That's 100% a result of having a learning disabled coach.  A smartly coached team doesn't need to employ as many high impact movements as our players have to do.
So YOU really are as dumb as a box of rocks, aren't you Mr. Ima Dumas !!!

Targeting someone for something other people are clearly doing as well is getting personal with someone.

But Philly gonna Philly.  And the civilized world will continue to clown you for it.

No go flip some burgers.

Sir. Dumas,
Have YOU been drinking on the BEACH today once again ?

@ "WTF"...  They're limited financially and personally I wouldn't have re-upped Furkan, but he's still young and has potential as a shooter.  Burke can play, he's more scorer than PG though.  He does have a 42pt game on his resume in the NBA and avg like 17 vs 6ers couple seasons ago.  Considering the tight budget they did ok.  Who did you have in mind for vet min salary?

Hollow, trust me, I get it. WTF can shoot and make it once in a blue moon Trey can score also during that blue moin. The only reason that I could see signing them would be that they have NBA experience.

Uriji wouldn't have wasted his time talking to the thunder if Kawhi didn't tell him he'd stay of he got PG.

I think Masai blew it big on this one.  But we'll see.

It's  pretty late now to use the excuse that YOU were on the beach drinking.  Perhaps YOU should shut it down for the night, a week, a month, a year, screw it !! Forever !! Maybe, than Cowboys will understand why I do what I do !m

Love the Burke signing.   And I love that you hate this move as well as the rest of our offseason.

Please, PLEASE!! Explain why YOU like this Burke signing ? And, who gave YOU the idea that I disliked our signings this off-season ??

You're talking about the 14-15th men on the team. Not alot of mins, if any at all.  I wouldn't stress over it.

Ben, Neto, Shake, Burke.

Harris, Ennis, Mattisse, Furkan

I completely understand the rotation but , did we really need to fill our last 2 spots with Burke and WTF ?

Really ?? Trey Burke and WTF Korkmaz ?? There are better options out there than this. Also, to leave a spot in the roster open is better than clogging up our opportunities. The Furkan signing is like having **** on a bull !! And regarding Burke, he might as well be a one legged man in an ass kicking contest. WTH? Elton, you've been doing so well up until yesterday.

Chump Change... Worth the development at this price. And he's still only 21... DrD speaking is like that commercial where Hal has just woken up from a long winter hibernation, and the only thing that can help him readjust is a delicious burger grilled on Kingsford charcoal. Somebody get this man a burger... Didn't realize you could speak outside of using the DUMB FEATURE.

Obviously you have forgotten but some years ago when I was younger, I would post on Philly.com. But, there is too much BS going on since the good old days and that's why there is only so many posters on here. BTW, the reason for DUMB on this last one is that I'm not speaking, I'm writing ! If, I had the time to waste writing more often that would be awesome !! To be honest, most of this forum should feel fortunate that I'm not capable of speaking my mind and that I only do what I do. Anyway, thanks for the info on his contract.
