Might as well get this started. We're a little over a month away from the Feb 5 deadline
DM is prolly on the phone right now trying to talk up a trade. McCain, Watford, Drummond, EG, Broome, Edwards, and possibly Walker if signed to a standard deal are all prolly on stand by. Any combination of those contracts could get them something at the deadline and please believe DM will do something. If theres an ex Rocket or Viper out there flapping, DM will find him...lol!!!
DEN outta Cs right now....just saying. Does PHI still have the rights to Charles Bassey?
I thought Broome could be cut in order to keep Barlow, but I just looked at his contract. He signed a $8M/4yr deal. Thats alot of money for him and what he's done. I get its only a AAV of about $2M, but dang Barlow making $85K.
I think who gets moved, if anyone, will depend on the Sixers record as the deadline approaches. Sixers have 19 games remaining before Feb 5 so if the Sixers are still in or near the top six as they currently are, I think the franchise will have to go all in for a playoff run, realistically or not. That limits what they can do at the trade deadline. However, if the team loses most of their games between then and now, it would make sense to consider trading Oubre, Drummond or Grimes, if he'll agree, for a pick or two and maybe a younger player with some potential. There's no point in trading McCain now - he's at 35.9% from the floor, 32.5% from three. That won't attract much attention. May as well see if he can find his stroke as the season goes on. Edwards numbers are just as bad. Oubre and Drummond are the players that, if traded, would be most likely to bring back something for the future.
