we all knew this was a lost season from the jump unless about 10 miracles occur in our favor

4 games above .500 is better than all of us thought this team would be and we cant tank.  Its not a great situation but we KNEW THAT GOING IN

Complaining about the situation we all knew we would be in half way through the season just doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me?

This is how we knew it would go and its been going better than we thought with some positive developments.

How about we do this.  You state the problem you have with this team and then we try to find a solution.

If your problem is frustration with the situation we all knew we were going to be in then you are the one that needs to wake up.  Complaining about what was essentially a prophecy that comes to fruition is just silly.

No one serious thinks this team is a contender.  Again it would take everything breaking right for them kinda like a pacers run.  That doesnt happen here.  This is not a revelation to anyone.  Theres nothing to additively build with and there are no trades that can better our long term situation.  And since we are all in agreement that this team is mediocre the focus should be on the long term.  So those trades of george and embiid?  They dont help us now because we suck but they would severely hinder the future due to a loss of heavy draft capital.

Start with Paul George. Just give me 3-4 role players back in return... If you have multiple contracts, it makes it easier to trade or waive them...

What team? I brought the Rockets up a few years back when they brought in contracts like Adams, Brooks, and Van Vleet, which allowed the Rockets to play their young kids... When you have a young team, you need contracts... Nets, Jazz, Wizards, etc...  Who is to say that the Warriors aren't still in play...

You want a PF... If it's just a temp guy, I wonder would the Lakers give up Rui or Cavs give up on Hunter... Some are interested in Herb Jones... Tari Eason?

We had Iguodala which was uneven at best for a decade of mediocrity.

We got Jimmy for 30 games then ownership chased him off.  That was THE GUY.  He was doing everything VJ is now but was about to enter his prime.  A guy to help Ben and Embiid as they develop.  Magnet hands.  Every clutch shot goes in.  Winning plays.  Dude made the finals with two worse teams on the Heat than he had here in philly.  Why don't you ever wring your hands out about that trade but do so with everything else?

Our spots in the draft just havent lined up for forwards at all.  In 2013 you could say Giannis but 10+ teams passed on him.  In 2014 its Embiid or Dante Exum or Aaron Gordon.

In 2015 its Okafor or Porzingis.  Taking Okafor may have been better because he proved you wont ever have to pay him a max contract lol.  Kristaps youd have to pay and then hed turn into another injury prone player not worth his cost.

Seeing a trend here?

Celtics were never letting us get tatum if this is another duke thing.  We got fleeced by them yet again.  Mikal got fleeced by Brett Brown lol.

then we had Ben in the Jaylen Brown draft.  Ben and Jimmy were the guys.  We had them.  Star players dont come around often and star players with size come around even less often.  You say you want a front court but think we can get Pascal Siakam for Paul George?  Even on every drug in the known universe that is never happening unless we attach more than two first round picks.  Siakam is who i wanted in the season Embiid was going crazy but we waited and ended up with George and the Pacers got him before the trade deadline.  That goose is cooked.  An athletic stretch 4 who can rim protect and shoot the 3.  Its the rarest archetype in the league for a reason because it is so incredibly valuable.  The chance to get him is gone however unless you plan to pay through the nose to make it happen.  It would take everything we have plus george for a team you don't think is any good.  How does that make sense?

To put it simply we had both the guys here with a REALLY good shot at a 3rd in Siakam when we had cap and money to spend in 23-24.  We drafted a wing with the first overall pick and he had a mental breakdown that ended his career along with back troubles.  We traded for Jimmy Butler and then let him walk after 30 games in order to pay tobias harris.

This isnt a smart team but the guys have been in the building that you are looking for.  Some **** just happens like Ben, and other stuff like Jimmy is why we are a trash organization with a trash culture.  It all starts with Joshua Harris and him buying up sports franchises just to flip them in a decade or so when the valuation is magnitudes higher.

edit - you also arent getting Markannen.  No matter how much his value has dropped georges is lower.  I said you wont get anything worthwhile THIS YEAR because if you wait till next year George only has one season left on that deal.  Then it is within the realm of reason to flip him for role players that also suck without giving up a pick that could be used to get this elusive small forward either in a trade or in the draft.  So yea you still arent getting anything close to a young and/or good wing in return for our trash.  Come join us in reality.  Its a salary dump whenever it happens, the only question is do you want to give up first round picks to do it now for zero benefit?  Ive made my stance on that pretty clear and have explained why it would be a horrendous decision.

Down goes my STEELERS. I'll be surprised Tomlin stays with Pittsburgh. IMO, he has to go 10 straight playoffs games nothing shows for. Metcalf 3 catches maybe 30 yards. I can't wait to see what Stephen A, has to say, toss in Ryan Clark. I think Baltimore coach will be in Pittsburgh. The defense played well 3 TO nothing to show for. Finally, I think the Rooney's will be doing some house cleaning.

I used to think steelers fans were spoiled (and they are) but ive given tomlin and the team more rope because of how disfunctional the sixers are as my other team.  Id kill for that stability and culture on the sixers but at a certain point you just turn into marvin lewis.  Its time

I don't quite agree with you on Maxey... If Maxey wasn't always hustling and pushing the rock, we wouldn't have even gone to OT... We wouldn't even be in the game at all... It was Maxey who made that play at the end that tied the game. Had he not gone 100 miles and running, that's game time... When Maxey plays with pace he's a different player... His step backs from 3... The facts are Embiid had 6 turnovers and played like crap, probably because he was dead tired at 40 minutes. You say we were at our best, but it's not how you start it's how you finish...

You say Bona was in too long? What kind of production have we gotten at PF all season? We got 2 rebounds from Barlow... I said to start the season that Paul George should start at PF or do Twin Towers with Bona...

Yes bona was in for far too long. Facing a zone and having a non shooter on the floor means a free double on embiid at all times with no down side. It's as simple as it gets. Our wings being bad literally doesn't matter one iota. The spacing was trash and you gained zero benefit from a team doubling because it was 4 on 5. There is a 0% chance of bona being a threat. Is this what you guys want when you think of big ball?

There is a 100% chance anyone else would properly space the floor more than he did and alleviate the poor spacing. After seeing it lead to endless car crashes nurse thought it was all good. We invited a team to try to win by telling them to exploit the biggest weakness of embiid. That is what I mean by nurse not setting us up for success. It's complete idiocy.

You did not one time mention Wilt Chamberlain, Dr. J, Bobby Jones, Moses Malone, Hal Greer, etc...

But then you come with some Joel Embiid? When did he become a legend? I can somewhat understand Iverson. He changed the culture and all... But still, never won a damn thing... We get credit for winning 1 game in the Finals... With Embiid we been losing in the 1st round. I don't get it. Legend? We talking legends... Maybe  you are young still and this is all you have seen... If Joel had half of what Charles Barkley brought as an undersized PF... Injuries have killed his career for me to label him a legend.

that wasnt even my point... why should i go back 40 - 50 years?  Is the turn of the century not recent enough?  Im going back 25 years to show more recent examples of our two best players since then being treated far more harshly than the make a wish players of Ben and Fultz.  The point is that these guys were not run out of town at all but youd rather neg embiid i guess.

but if you truly don't think hes getting his jersey retired here and going straight into the hall of fame idk what to tell you.  You should gamble on it because youd get incredible odds.

I can say this... Ben was the same player in college as he was in the NBA... While he had every talent in the world... There was just something about him... As if he was not interested, and got lost in the sauce at times... Not saying he didn't have a high motor... But he had many mental lapse in the game that would kill you...

To be fair to Ben... We have a long history of other young talent who come in with all the promise in the world... But Philly swallows them and they leave a fragment of themselves... MCW was the ROY and then he was some shite... Okafor was in the ROY running and left some shite... Too many names to list them all... I think a combination of the food they eat (philly one of the worst healthy cities) and the media and fans... Angelo Cataldi is Negadelphia... Eskin would dog the players on the radio... It wasn't long ago with Marcus Hayes... Eliot Shorr-Parks... It is what it is... I am originally from Ohio and get the Mid-West and their hardworking values... And that is what made Philly, Philly per se'... Everything was about being tough... And these guys just aren't tough guys. Which is why I say it's the weakest generation I have ever seen.

they just arent good, time to stop with this narrative.  Fultz and Ben were treated as make a wish kids here for doing the most basic actions youd expect from guards.  Never seen anything like it from this city.  The Sixers fandom has been extremely kind to these types and much more harsh on the actual team legends like iverson and embiid.

MCW and Okafor both played their best for us and were traded.  They then only got worse and fell out of the league.  How this reflects poorly on the sixers development team youd have to explain to me.  Its like the Steelers trading Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool back to back.  They both are out of th league now but had their best years for the steelers.  Youd never say the steelers ruined them though would you?  I guess they thought it would happen a third time with Pickens but jokes on them for that one.  smh
