Eagles Forum / Re: Biggest need for Eagles after Draft
« on: April 28, 2020, 10:25:46 am »
We got 3 we can win a title with.  Dougy P don't need a HOFer behind center, just half decent run blocking and some half decent backs and receivers to hand it off and throw it to.

But I will grant that you guys have ONE good QB.  But because he's playing in NY he'll be overhyped and eventually will underwhelm.

Is Foles still an Eagle?

Exactly...

Eagles Forum / NY Football Giants 2020 NFL Draft Review
« on: April 27, 2020, 01:38:17 pm »
No WR, DE, RB, TE...

They stood by their draft board, that's for sure. Solid draft, with a few potential Day 1 starters...

No real help at DE, so the schemes better work well...

Per CBS Sports:

Andrew Thomas OL, UGA
Height: 6-5, Weight: 315

B+ - He's the best tackle in this draft class. I think he's the cleanest tackle. This kid's going to be a longtime starter on the left side. This year he'll start on the right. (Pete Prisco)

Xavier McKinney S, BAMA
Height: 6-0, Weight: 201

A - McKinney does it all at safety. Active, reliable tackler. Range and ball skills in coverage. QB of the defense. Big boost for Giants defense. (Chris Trapasso)

Matt Peart OL, UCONN
Height: 6-7, Weight: 318

A - Peart is freaky long with stellar feet and pass-protection chops. Needs to get a little stronger. Lateral quickness is outstanding. Solid anchor that'll only improve. More of a pass blocker than run blocker, yet solid in the latter too. Love this pick for New York even after Andrew Thomas. (Chris Trapasso)

Darnay Holmes CB, UCLA
Height: 5-10, Weight: 195

A- Holmes has lightning-quick feet, fluid hips, and good straight-line speed. Aggressive on-an-island CB. At times that's good, other times, it hurts him. Doesn't always locate the ball in the air. Yet his athleticism is vastly intriguing. New York building a secondary with complementary skill sets. (Chris Trapasso)

Shane Lemieux OL, OREG
Height: 6-4, Weight: 310

B- More OL beef for the Giants. Lemieux won't get you into trouble but unlikely to be a star. Average athletic gifts. Super experienced. Advanced combo blocker. Twitch pushed the limit by quick penetrators. (Chris Trapasso)

Cam Brown LB, PSU
Height: 6-5, Weight: 233

C+ Towering LB with moments of hip fluidity and big play-making skill, then has long stretches of invisibility. Slow play recognition skills. Large tackling radius not majorly consistent there. Has the size to run with TE but coverage isn't his forte. (Chris Trapasso)

Carter Coughlin LB, MINN
Height: 6-3, Weight: 236

A - Coughlin understands how to use counters off his speed rush to win around the corner. High motor and never stops battling. Has to get much stronger. Quality sinking in coverage too. (Chris Trapasso)

T.J. Brunson LB, SC
Height: 6-1, Weight: 230

C- Brunson has the physical makeup of a modern-day LB, he's just not around the ball as often as you want your off-ball linebacker to be and doesn't thrive in coverage because he has problems sinking his hips and running. (Chris Trapasso)

Chris Williamson CB, MINN
Height: 6-0, Weight: 205

B-  Length and ball skills make him a worthy selection at this point in the draft. Not a fluid athlete but has good body control to attack the football as it's arriving. (Chris Trapasso)

Tae Crowder LB, UGA
Height: 6-3, Weight: 235

C- Pure athleticism flyer for New York here. Came into his own a bit in 2019 but has a ways to go in coverage and defeating blocks to help stop the run. (Chris Trapasso)

Not having the 3rd hurt them IMHO. There were a few pretty good Centers, DEs and WRs there for the taking...

They need to make 5th year option decisions on Peppers & Engram this week...

We shall see...

#2 - Washington Redskins - EDGE - Chase Young - Ohio State - I'm still waiting to see how the Skins screw this up.

#4 - New York Football Giants - OT - Jedrick Wills - Alabama - I can't tell which of Thomas, Wills or Wirfs is the best.  But a definite tackle here.

#17 - Dallas Cowboys - OT - Mekhi Becton - Louisville - I don't think they like their situation at either tackle spot.  Smith can't stay healthy and Collins is better suited for guard.

#21 - Philadelphia Eagles - - AJ Terrell - Clemson - If CJ Henderson drops here, he's the pick.  But we'll settle for Terrell.

I'm not sure Becton is there at 16...

We shall see...

Make your pick for each team, including the #...

#2 - Washington Redskins - EDGE - Chase Young - Ohio State - No Brainer.

#4 - New York Football Giants - OT - Jedrick Wills - Alabama - See No Brainer above.

#17 - Dallas Cowboys - CB - AJ Terrell - Clemson - Never enough.

#21 - Philadelphia Eagles - WR - Tee Higgins - Clemson - Best of what's left.

No trades for me, even though I think the Giants want to drop back a few, and Philly move up a bunch...

We shall see...

Fredo and his big brother are both just a couple of bad jokes...

Andy, along with Billy D, have driven NY into the ground. Both have nothing but the blame game at this point...

You really can't make this stuff up...
