This is why #MLB needs both a salary floor and a salary cap. The industry payroll differential is so exaggerated that half the teams literally have no-chance at a World Championship.

Paul Reed is the single best rebounder I've seen since Dennis Rodman, and plenty athletic enough to play defense at the 4.
His 3 ball is ugly, but goes down at a better rate than Barlows.

Odds are he decided to sandbag it a little last season, knowing that the Angels were a lost cause. Catching is the hardest job in baseball. If you know your team is trying to tank for a top pick, it's almost impossible for you to be at the top of your game defensively.
