See you in ten years

You know someway, somehow,  through sheer luck they are going to go on a run and pull me back in this year only to lose horribly in the first round. ;D

Welp- It's a wrap!
My frustration has been brewing for weeks. because of how bad the Sixers have been this season.  Me ranting in here, was therapeutic :)

I am going to hibernate now, until they get better!

NN has to change the offense.  It cant be Embiid centric, cuz he doesn't play.  He needs to have more of a motio offense which would force more passes and stop all the dumb @$$ unnecessary dribbling and iso.  There is a time for that, but not as their primary set.

Maxey stops playing defense as soon as a player gets by him.  He just stands there doing absolutely nothing.  Guys getting offensive rebounds cuz he's just standing there watching.  He has to be engaged like the rest of the players.  They're in a zone, he's outta position so someone goes to help him and he just stands watching as Theis goes down the lane.

I agree; the offense has to change.  The players have to execute better and must be  held accountable.  When you are small and is not a good shooting team  you have to move, hustle to hopefully get good shots. Everyone needs to crash the board. Stop taking stupid shots when none of your teammates are near the basket.   Since we are so small, the coach has to preach collective rebounding.

On defense, if you are going to play small, the players need to move their feet and box out on defense.    They need to be pesky and hustle a lot more then they are right now.    If players are unwilling then they need to be benched.

However a lot of the sixers issue seem to be culture/identity related.  They don't know who they are!!  If they do, then they certainly not doing it and are not being held accountable.

Sorry for ranting in here.  I have been a Sixers fan since I can remember.  I had so much expectations for this season.  But I am so disappointed with the production this year from the Coach (mostly) Management (Morey) and the players.  I don't mind losing if you are competing and playing the right way.

I think it's the scheme and the coach for not knowing how to best utilize his personnel.

That one handed bs that's all the rage in the NBA, trynna avoid contact instead of drawing contact.

Incredibly frustrating.  This team has no identity on Offense-  Too much ball dribbling and ISO.  I don't Know why George and Maxey and Embiid feels like they have to take all the shots.. and bad one at that too..

I blame the coach!

Why does Maxey keeps missing so many easy layups?  Is he trying too hard to prove that he more than deserved the contract?

He has also been taking some incredibly bad shots this year!!  SMH

I am hoping for a win!  But with the way this team has been playing it will probably come down to the final seconds.

Listening to Morey and Rivers' Press conference.  He mentioned the following " Max wanted to meet today to discuss his plan for next week".

What a player?  What a kid?  This is what we need, more players like Max !!!

Here is the link to the press conference:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSSbzY_EhxI

There are also some interesting tidbits about the team and the move forward.  He looks like knows that we have to improve on defense and improve the team overall.

We have no 1st round pick in 2022, 2025 and 2027.

Our only hope is for Reed to live up to his promise to be an All-Star next season.

If not, this process will end with Joel demanding a trade next offseason.

I agree that Reed, Bassey, and our young players need playtime to develop. However, we need to have a coach or a system that would allow these players to do that. Unfortunately, I don think Rivers is that coach; he failed us this year by not developing Reed and Bassey during the regular season. Instead, he threw Reed through the wolves during the playoffs.  Although Reed played well, imagine what could have been if the coach had instilled confidence in not only Reed and Bassey by playing them throughout the regular season.

We need to let Rivers, Harden unless he is on a team-friendly contract, and Tobias go.

I thought Bid sent out a pretty strong message.  Reading through the line and I could be wrong; I don't think he really wants Harden back or else he wouldn't have said what he said.

One thing, I applaud him for speaking his mind.  I think he showed leadership, away with political correctness.

I learned, and I hope our front office learned as well as the fact that James Harden is no longer a difference-maker; he cannot carry nor can he lead a team to victory anymore. He is not worth the max deal contract; not anymore.   We should let him walk and invest the money in more athletic, young talents.

George, Jordan  should not be playing  in this series. Both are liabilities on defense and their offense have been offensive.

Doc has gotta go… I have lost all respect for him. Not dynamic enough of a coach.  Too set in his ways and does not develop or instill confidence in his young players

I wonder the same thing!!! How do you only play Bassey for 5 minutes?

Doc does not know how to think outside the box and this is the reason why we can't win a championship with him.  We lose this series and I am done with Doc at this point.

During the entire season, he completely failed to develop Reed and Bassey.  This is a major faux pas in my book.  He has to go after this season

Why is it hard for Doc to realize that Bassey needs to play in this series?  If we lose this series,  he has got to go.

I am oK with the trade.  I wish we did not give them Drummond, Curry plus 2 first-round picks.  I would have liked this trade better if Patty Mills was included.
