Eagles Forum / Re: Was Josh Simmons the guy we should have drafted?
« on: November 19, 2025, 11:05:25 pm »
I love Jihad, but with Dean and Phillips starting now he's pretty much luxury depth at a position we're already insanely deep in.

On the flip side, we got offensive linemen getting injured every 30 seconds (as was the case the past 3 seasons as well), and Simmons would have made for the perfect super sub at at least the tackle spots.

Simmons has started at LT every game he's played as a rookie, and done quite well.

If this season falls apart, it'll be cause Howie didn't give our offensive line, the Golden Goose of our success since Howie took over, nearly enough love.
Na we good Campbell was the right choice. Big Fred will hold it down at RT.

I'm retiring. Maybe someone else will take it over?
I appreciate your efforts Mark. Thanks man, PTS was a great creation.

Is Mark doing it this season?

We got the short term cap space, we got 12 picks in next year's draft, and as much as I like Powell-Ryland, I don't think we really addressed our loss of Sweat and Graham.

Howie at his point is waiting for the Bengals price to come down to something super reasonable, like maybe a 3rd and 5th.  Trey is good, but his contract demands alone make him a nonstarter for most teams.

We can justify the long term cap commitment after letting so many high value players walk as free agents this offseason.  Even with Goeddert, we didn't really commit to him long term.

My only hesitation with making this trade is that it effectively makes us a 4 front defense.  I don't think Hendrickson can be counted on to drop back into coverage.  The nice thing about our current configuration is that we can true 3-4 fronts and disguise which edge rusher will be dropping back.
They want too much for him.

Eagles Forum / Re: Post combine draft analysis
« on: March 31, 2025, 04:09:07 pm »
Jalon Walker measured out at 6'1 flat with 32 inch arms.  He didn't do any combine drills, and won't do pro day drills due to an injury.

It'll be very hard for teams to justify investing a high pick on a short edge rusher, who played mostly off ball linebacker in college, without him proving elite athleticism.

For the reason, I think he'll fall to us at 32, and would be a perfect fit for us, even if we resign Baun.  His status as a "tweener" will be a feature not a bug.  If Baun walk, Walker probably starts at linebacker, while getting some snaps as an edge rusher.

For our 2nd round pick, I think a DT will be the pick.  It's a deep class as far a guys worthy of being 1st/2nd round picks.  We could be greedy and wait until the 3rd, but my guess is that we take the best DT available here.  Darius Alexander measured out amazingly at the combine, and his game tape against Power5 competition is really good.  We nailed out last Toledo pick, why not again?

For our 3rd I think we go Charles Grant here.  Long arms, plus athleticism, if he pans out (no guarantee) he'll be a star caliber tackle.  If you're gonna draft a development play, go for high upside.
I want Walter Nolan at 32. 2nd round take the best pass rushers available. Maybe James Pierce jr. from Tennessee.

Saints already stole Moore from us.

Half our defense may still be sick.

And rumors are swirling that Travis will propose to Taylor after the game.

All of this means we'll likely just win by 10 instead of 20.
Not mad about losing Kellen. Our next OC needs to be creative.

I'm thinking a repeat of the Seahawks 40-8 thrashing of the Broncos back when Manning was still regarded as an elite QB.

The refs are obviously gonna do everything they can to keep it close.  My guess is that we'll get hit with no less than 2 roughing the passer type calls on Mahomes.  Won't be enough though.
This was accurate as hell it felt like 40-8

Vic needs to work on his prevent defense.
Vic defense was great when it mattered 1,2, and 3rd qtr.

Entirely too much pre-game filler. Let's get it going.

Insane trade.

Are the Lakers really winning a title with Luka+Lebron?

Are the Mavs winning with a 32 year old Kyrie+31 year old AD?
Championship coming to LA this season. We fina go get a big man. People think Bron will ask for a trade or will be traded. I think that's highly unlikely.

Our beloved Eagles stamped their ticket to the Superbowl in style on Sunday, thrashing the upstart Washington Commanders 55-23. And while the Birds were taking care of business on the field, 4for4 woke up from his late season slump to take the weekly top honors, and also take over sole possession of first place in the standings. Congrats to 4for4 on a big win. There were no bonus points earned this week.

I've watched a lot of Chiefs games this season.  They're frauds.  Tons of close wins despite shameless levels of referee assistance.

Don't get me wrong, Mahomes is a magician, and they've had some great drafts in recent years, so there's some talent under the age of 30 on their roster.

But they're not stopping our run.  Nor are they forcing us out of our 2 deep shell.  They simply don't have the talent on either side of the ball to get us out of our comfort zone.

The only way we lose is if we choose to not run it, and if we lose discipline on defense.

As for the refs, they'll give KC every 50/50 call, and even a couple phantom calls.  I just don't think it'll matter.  We just played 3 tough games in sub 40 degree weather, at least 2 of them against elite QBs.  We've seen elite QB play in the playoffs already, KC's defense hasn't yet seen a run game that's even in the same solar system as ours.  It'll be a shock to them.  It'll shatter what false confidence they have.

My only wish is that we put Shipley ahead of Gainwell in our depth chart.  Kenneth was concussed, so it's possible he may not clear protocol by gametime.  But Shipley gives us another home run threat from the running back position.
Agreed, Kruk!!! Rent due and these mofo have to pay.

Gonna wait until the final Injury report, but I said before the Lions/Commanders game that Washington is the only team that scares me. That kid is another mahomes, he can make something out of nothing.
Daniels will be in the top 10 Qbs rankings coming into next season.

I'm inclined to think this will be a blowout.

Gotta shatter whatever confidence the R-words have heading into this offseason.
Definitely, could be a blowout.
