Eagles 2026 offseason news and notes
« on: February 23, 2026, 01:12:42 pm »
Barkley says our new offensive scheme is unlike anything he's ever seen.

Barkley also says that AJ is a huge Patriots fan.  A rather peculiar thing to say at this particular time.

Lane and Landon are confirmed to be coming back for another season.  God help us if that dissuades Howie from drafting a lineman in the 1st or 2nd.

Dallas rumored to have interest in Dean.  Once again, Jerry's obsession with us is working to our advantage.  We evidently offered Carter and 2 1sts for Parsons.  Thank God Jerry passed on that.

NFL combine is this week.  Look for offensive tackles who run a 5 second 40 and have 34+ inch arms.  Don't be shocked if we spend our 1st on a WR, especially if the plan is to deal Brown after June 1st.

It’s time for the Culture Guy head coach to earn his job and smooth AJ

I think Nick and AJ are on the same wavelength, along with every canine in the greater Philadelphia area.

I dont think he ever was retiring.  I think media asks these questions to players way too soon after the season ends, and they're still in their feelings.  They've had long runs over the last few years, and they finally get some relief after being one & done.  It was needed to reset this mind and body.  PLUS, he not about to leave all that money on the table.

I think PHI really don't wanna re-sign Philips either.  Theyre gonna do their due diligence of course, but if Nolan Smith had a better season there wouldn't even be a question of his return.   They wouldn't do it.  Nolan Smith was @$$ last season.  He was coming back from injury and just never returned to his previous level of play.  Now, you gotta wonder if he's a NFL starting end.  I think the Phillydawgs about to be broken up.  I seen where Josh Job got a ring w SEA as starting CB.  Good for him.  Shouldve kept him instead of Ringo
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Rom 8:31)

Howie's strategy is to spend his cap dollars on offense and his draft picks on defense.

I'd be shocked if he opens up the checkbook for more than 2-3 of our current defensive stars.

In fact I strongly suspect he may draft another DT with our 1st round pick and trade Ojomo or Davis, depending on which player proves more greedy in early contract extension negotiations.

As for Smith, I think Howie is content with giving him another year before deciding whether to extend him.

If this is how the offense will flow, Im game.  IMO it may take 2 seasons to perfect though.  The change is drastic.

Jordan Davis is signing a 3-year extension with the Eagles worth $78 Million

LFG!

Love it.

He's a physical freak and someone who'd be extremely difficult to replace.

If Ojomo takes a reasonable extension, Carter could be dealt now for 2 1sts

Really good news. Wouldn’t give up a guy like Carter so fast. Still has skill to be generational

I love Carter, but I suspect he's asking for something astronomical on his extension.

With 2 years left on his rookie deal we could sell high now.  This upcoming draft is stacked with athletic DTs.

*If* Davis stays at last year's weight he's worth it. Let's hope it wasn't just a one year commitment from him

His PFF rating has been consistently good.

Conditioning was was his issue, so he dropped from 360 to 330 to address it.  The weight cut didn't appear to impact his effectiveness.

Yeah, I know about the weight loss. Weird how he finally figured it out in his contract year.
Ya feel me?
