I dont think he ever was retiring. I think media asks these questions to players way too soon after the season ends, and they're still in their feelings. They've had long runs over the last few years, and they finally get some relief after being one & done. It was needed to reset this mind and body. PLUS, he not about to leave all that money on the table.
I think PHI really don't wanna re-sign Philips either. Theyre gonna do their due diligence of course, but if Nolan Smith had a better season there wouldn't even be a question of his return. They wouldn't do it. Nolan Smith was @$$ last season. He was coming back from injury and just never returned to his previous level of play. Now, you gotta wonder if he's a NFL starting end.
