I was waiting tables and bartending at my in state college while doing what my guidance counselor assured me was the hardest major that was available at the time.
That allowed my parents to spend more money on my extremely high maintenance brother, whose education ended up costing them more than they spent buying our tiny Bethesda house.
But I'm glad you had the luxury of goofing around when you were young. Though I get the sense that you were in bed before midnight on a typical Friday night.
Awesome that you think being an amateur boxer is “goofing around”. I spent about 30 hours a week on average during the school year devoted to boxing. And then during the summer, I’d be working 40 hours a week at an engineering firm, and then spent the few hours of “spare time” I had each day working out. Yeah, so much “goofing around” going on….
So funny. You should give it a try Kruk since it’s so easy. You always brag about how you can walk to DC. So walk to any of the dozens of boxing gyms in the city and give it a go.
And umm yeah Kruk I was in bed before midnight on Friday nights during my junior and senior years of college. I had a fight just about every Saturday night during the year. So why would I stay up past midnight when I had a fight the following night? The season would end by the 2nd week of April, so then for the remaining weeks of the year, I’d go out on the weekends. Anything else you’d like to know about my social life during college?
