we all knew this was a lost season from the jump unless about 10 miracles occur in our favor

4 games above .500 is better than all of us thought this team would be and we cant tank.  Its not a great situation but we KNEW THAT GOING IN

Complaining about the situation we all knew we would be in half way through the season just doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me?

This is how we knew it would go and its been going better than we thought with some positive developments.

How about we do this.  You state the problem you have with this team and then we try to find a solution.

If your problem is frustration with the situation we all knew we were going to be in then you are the one that needs to wake up.  Complaining about what was essentially a prophecy that comes to fruition is just silly.

No one serious thinks this team is a contender.  Again it would take everything breaking right for them kinda like a pacers run.  That doesnt happen here.  This is not a revelation to anyone.  Theres nothing to additively build with and there are no trades that can better our long term situation.  And since we are all in agreement that this team is mediocre the focus should be on the long term.  So those trades of george and embiid?  They dont help us now because we suck but they would severely hinder the future due to a loss of heavy draft capital.

Yes, exactly my point.

So The 6ers have one, "in his prime" all-star in Maxey. While, Embiiid is overpaid, most likely a former all star, he's past his prime and no longer has the defensive impact which is the most important role of a center (cant rebound, does not intimidate drivers). And VJ ie an unproven rookie who's career path is unknown. Plus the 6ers are saddled with PGs contract.

The Magic have 2 all-star caliber players who by the way are younger than Maxey and therefore theoretically at least have more room for growth. Plus more other intriguing youngsters from Anthony Black, Jalen Suggs, Tristan DiSilva etc. AND role players in their primes... like Bane, Carter Jr.

The Cavs have 3 players too. All on the right side of their prime and with more experience than a rookie.

I'm not trying to crap on the 6ers situation. I don't think it's nearly as bad as Cowboys and a few others try to suggest it is. But I am tryna be objective about it.

Well, Orlando better hope they get better as they get older. They have 11 players signed next year at 214 million. Over the 1st apron already and still need 6 players.

Cavs better hope to that the players they have now with 20 loses get better. They are over the 2nd apron next year already.

Embiid overpaid? He is up there because of how long he has been in the league, But, he is still putting up 24 plus points a game. I’ll take that. I mean Suggs gets 35 million and is scoring 15 points a game. Bane is getting 36 million for 19 a game. There are a lot of players overpaid. But I’m ok with our overpaid player scoring 24 plus points a night.

he is a shell of his formal self due to injuries'. He is a sunk cost at this point. His underlying metrics are solid eye test not so much.

not sure a team wants that long term contract unless they are getting out of one as well. Can probably help the right team for the next 2 years.

Asking him to retire is silly. He isnn't or should he give up that money. Correct danny is pushover and would never ask.

This was always a crazy idea I was thinking about. If the flyers forced Cucktourier to retire, then whatever he would have earned as a player, they can pay him as some sort of ambassador to the team that glad handles the season ticket holders.

Or if he misses the camaraderie of the team he can be some made up assistant coach of and also be paid what he would have made as a player.

It won't happen....no chance but yeah the thought did cross my mind

Your points are fair.
But VJ is gonna be special, trust me. 😆

I was hoping for Bichette as any fan would, but will come right out say this, I'm grateful to the Mess for taking Louis Robert. Why? I think there's a chance we'll see this year. Painter, Crawford (majors) and Miller (AAA) may show why DD was close to throwing the baby out with the bathwater although we don't know how close any kind of trade was. The Mess snatched Bichette, the real prize, but they put a guy in CF who has had one successful half season. He's cheap ($20 million and can't believe I said cheap), Cohen throws that kind of money out for tips, but i'm more happy this club will give these kids a real shot (for now). There is a chance DD can still do something dumb but am hopeful. Fingers crossed. Got a good feeling on at least two of the three and very hopeful about Wood and Escobar (Nos 4 and 5 Prospects). My sleeper isWen-Hui Pen, coming off TJ surgery when a 2024 trip to the AFL was sacked and had surgery late 2024. They say he's healthy. I saw him for Threshers in 2024, he throws up to 99, has a crazy a$$ splitter in the mid 80s and apparently had a swing/miss rate on it at 63% the year I saw him. He rocketed up from A to High A and on his way to AFL when he was derailed.

a pseudo front runner fan. understood.....just messing with you. you seem like a bridesburg/fishtown guy.

oddly enough the eagles are the only philly team I never liked at all.

Lol, well was never a big Sixers fan except for time I was hoping they would lose during the tank

Flyers bored me to tears for so many years. The Phillies got to be that way too. Tired of looking at Bohm, Marsh, Casty, Stott, Realmuto year in and year out. And Trea siting on bench for two months smiling after tweaking a hamstring.  Then after the D Backs year I bailed. Tired of a team trying to win by hitting six solo home runs a game.

Vegas was always my home away from home. Now it is my home. VGK was always a team I liked from start.

Stuck? Yes maybe stuck with PG for 2 more years. But, I’m pretty sure it’s not a bad thing being stuck with the 2nd leading scorer at the center position.

The Cavs have been snake bitten with injuries? PG missed 18 games, Embiid 19 and Oubre 22? What do we call that?

We have 3 player to build around.. Embiid, Maxey and VJ. That’s the bottom line.

Now, if I could move PG, I would. I don’t think I would move Embiid unless a team blows me a way.
not snakebitten. the usual

Btw there seems to be more criticism and rightfully so against Cooty Coot Coots even from some of the most ardent sheep.

But Danny never would ask poor wittle Sean to waive his NTC or gasp.....retire.
