I appreciate the response. IMO - what you are describing is most fan bases that invest in their teams. Eg NY, Boston, Chicago etc rather than a St Louis or Tampa etc type of fan base.  The difference between a Philly fan and a NYC or Boston fan is our lack of arrogance which can be misconstrued as ignorance or stupidity. Our lack of arrogance allows us to embrace the underdog or be more forgiving. You would have to grow up in Philly to understand and I mean Philly, not a burb.

The level of groupthink among Philly fans is the most extreme I've ever seen.  Even before the Internet/social media you'd see the same dumb narratives pushed in perfectly synchronized unison.

It's like watching those North Koreas military marching shows, except the soldiers in this case keep walking off of cliffs.

Our guy Tori Eason going thru some things.  He's in a massive slump.  Got his mama calling Lethal Shooter (a shooting coach) for help....lol

If his shooting regresses to the mean, then he's in for a hot April, lol.

Jack Nesbitt (2025 Flyers 1st Round Pick) with an absolutely disgusting 3 goal effort so far in the season finale. He’s matched last year’s goal total in 10 less games. Flyers got their future net front presence for the power play.

#LetsGoFlyers

We're gonna have some big boys manning the center of the ice.
Stanley cup in 2030 is a given. where is all this talent going to play? nesbitt and berglund will be what they envisioned lindros and Primeau.

they will have so many assets and not enough room. Setting themselves up for contention for the next 20 years.

The 6ers find themselves in a funny spot. Generally you play for the 6th/5th seed. But you could make an argument Detroit is the most vulnerable playoff opponent, so ending up 8th might present the best chance to make the 2nd round.

Spot on. Nola has looked better but he's spent most of the spring in the WBC team so we haven't seen him much. I hope he does better than last year, but couldn't get eyes on some guys with the WBC.

wasn't good yesterday.

Yes but the most dominant Eagle team ever was the one we had the year after his retirement.

Imagine the Sixers going fo-fo-fo right after Iverson called it quits.

yeah, imagine that the team the year after had quinyon, cooper, baun, and some guy named barkley, none of whom were there prior. but hey, why muddy your nonsense with facts

As I suggested, I think the Wizards acquired both Davis and Young, both former all stars, in order to develop the group of young players they are assembling. The Wizards are loaded with 1st and 2nd round picks. If they draft deftly, they may be contenders be the time Embiid moves on. Any team thinking of acquiring Embiid should have a more thoughtful plan than "he'll put us over the top".

Yes, I'm with you, dude. And, there could be another historical loser franchise, besides just the Wizards, that wants to chase the 8th seed in the short term while putting veteran former stars around its developing youth.

Washington got AD for 1 late first and one fake first (ie probably won't convey). I don't think the 6ers would trade Joel for that sparse a package, at this point, but I do think there are teams that would consider trading for him, if that's all he costs.

i already said it didnt matter to you guys but you still decided to septuple down on the hate

my point was that outsiders and now even some sixers fans will do anything to tear him down even if it isnt real.  Microcosm of his career, that went viral and was on ESPN.  I dont care about the percents they were wrong and didnt fact check and just ran with it.

he started at a 200 game deficit and beat that.  No comment on that... just negativity...

Its okay to be negative, this team has put us all through hell.  But to do it so constantly is poison.  We are .5 out of the 5th seed and Detroit just lost Cade.  Very real possibility with guys coming back that we play Cleveland and then if we win a tight series we get Detroit without Cade.  Dream a little.  This has been a weird season in an era of weird seasons.  No team in the east is a world beater except the Celtics.

The point of sports is to have fun and to dream big.  Right now things are looking okay, its not the time to melt down over Joel every single day.
We also play OKC today... You can count that as a loss... The Magic play the Pacers and Raptors at the Jazz... And lets be honest here... All we do is beat tanking teams... We got a sprinkle of wins over playoff teams... Another thing, you do realize that Joel is tied for the 2nd highest contract in the entire league... So if the #2 paid player is not available, clearly that is a problem... The cap space that he takes only allows us to have GLeague help... And just maybe we are not .5 games out if he played more games...

Trust me when I say this, nobody has to tear down Joel Embiid... His body has done that for an entire decade... And some fans are exhausted of his 50/50 mentality... Call him out by saying GROUND HOGS DAY, you know at some point it's coming... And it does... Every freaking year... The last 3 years again, 33, 19, and 39 games... And here we sit 11 more games remaining in the season with zero idea if we are in or a play-in team... His unavailability is why we sit in this position... And cap wise you can only do so much around his asinine contract... In no way do I feel sorry for Joel... He has brought the majority of it on his own...

Sixers Forum / Re: Joel Has Now Missed More Games Than He Has Played...
« Last post by Penn on Today at 05:01:59 am »
Fake or not, it's not that far off... Joel at the Denver games missed 467 games... He would have missed the Jazz and Kings game. So that should be 469 games Missed...

Joel Embiid out for Sixers-Thunder on Monday... That would make it 470 games missed by Joel Embiid...

Joel Embiid has not played since Feb. 28 due to a right oblique strain. The Sixers have continually professed hope that his return was nearing in recent days...

When did playing over 50% of your career become a good thing? Do you agree that his unavailability is why we have not won a title under Joel... The lack of chemistry because he's unavailable... I'll give you something that is less than 50%... I don't give the Sixers a chance at all of winning in the 1st round. We could lose in the play-in... The chances of the Sixers winning a 1st round series IMHO, is 0%... They are not beating the Pistons, Celtics, or Knicks... Just maybe if someone was available more, the wins reflect differently, and they are higher in the standings. And their is consistency with the team in general... But this in and out the lineup for a huge number of games is not sustainable or a winning way... 485 played and 470 not played, regardless of how you want to put it is not good... It's still a 50/50 flip of the coin if he's available or not... 50.78% PLAYED and 49.22% NOT PLAYED...

i already said it didnt matter to you guys but you still decided to septuple down on the negativity

he started at a 200 game deficit and beat that.  No comment on that... just negativity...  At this point even if we did go on a run to the ECF theyd still detract from it.  From "no ECF" to "only one" or "no finals"  the goal post always shifts for people that are contentious.

Do i think we are likely to win a series?  No.  Can we?  Absolutely.  Do i think we could win two?  Absolutely if things break right.

Im a dreamer.  Pacers went on a run last year.  Why not us?  Why cant we ever be happy?  We are overdue.  Again in all likelihood it wont happen but what if?  a chance at playoff Harden and then Tobias and then the Celtics?  Who would say no to that?

DREAM BIG COWBOYS COME ON.  You are counting games that someone is not playing while we are 13-11 since the george suspension without 4/5 starters for a lot of it.  Come on thats lame as hell man

We are gonna get smacked vs OKC and then the race for the 5 seed is ON.  We have an easy schedule with our most important game remaining likely being against Charlotte.  Get excited about something because i am ready to get hurt again lol

For those w hope:

The Raptors lose, the Hawks and Sixers move .5 back of the 5 seed in the East.

Obviously the Sixers have a schedule loss tomorrow night vs OKC but 5 winnable games after that (if Embiid returns with George) is very possible.  The MIA game is a must win, to keep the tie breaker.  Ditto w CHA.  Only ATL holds the tie breaker over PHI.  Teams are bunched from #5-10.  Two games separate the 5th seed from the 10th seed.  CHA has the easiest schedule over the next 5 games, and they've been playing the best (W3).   Depending on how seeds 2-4 deal w their seedings, it could get interesting.  Next 5 games for:

PHI:  OKC, CHI, @CHA, @MIA, @WAS

ATL:  MEM, @DET, @BOS, SAC, BOS

ORL:  IND, @CLE, SAC, @TOR, PHX

TOR: @UTH, @LAC, NOP, ORL, @DET

MIA:  SAS, @CLE, @CLE, IND, PHI

CHA:  SAC, NYK, PHI, BOS, @BKY

*DET is the top seed, but Cade is out.  They'll play to keep the top seed.  I don't see BOS nor NYK tanking games to manipulate their seeding, so they'll play it out.  They won't be ducking any smoke.  Cant speak for CLE one way or the other.
